Job Description

A Teaching Assistant works under the supervision of a certified teacher to provide direct instructional support, reinforce lessons, and help manage classroom activities. 

• Communicate and coordinate effectively with the classroom teacher to support daily lesson plans

• Assist in preparing materials for classroom projects

• Provide individual and small-group support to reinforce understanding of instructional concepts

• Strictly follow all school rules, policies, and procedures

• Ensure student safety in the classroom, on field trips, and throughout the campus

• Provide targeted assistance to students as needed

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Full-time, probationary appointment

• 10-month position

• Salary and benefits per HEA contract

Job Qualifications

1. Valid NYS Certification as a Teaching Assistant

2. Strong commitment to children

3. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment

4. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
