The Hannibal Central School District is seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Director to lead and manage the district’s comprehensive school nutrition program. This leadership position oversees the planning, administration, and daily operation of food service programs serving approximately 2,000–2,499 meals per day across multiple schools.
Working under the direction of the School Business Administrator, the Food Service Director ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while providing nutritious, appealing meals that support student health and academic success. The Director supervises cafeteria staff, manages program finances, oversees menu development, and ensures efficient and safe operations across all school kitchens.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct the district’s school breakfast and lunch programs in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with the National School Lunch Program and other federal child nutrition programs.
- Develop menus that meet USDA nutrition standards while incorporating scratch cooking and fresh food preparation where possible.
- Prepare and manage the annual food service budget and oversee financial accountability.
- Coordinate purchasing, inventory management, and bid specifications for food and supplies.
- Supervise Cook-Managers, cooks, and food service workers; support staff training and development, including scratch cooking techniques and standardized recipes.
- Monitor cafeteria operations to ensure quality food preparation, sanitation, and safety practices.
- Maintain accurate program records and prepare required reports.
- Collaborate with administrators, staff, and community partners to support and enhance the school nutrition program.
