Job Description

The Hannibal Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Physical Education Teacher beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.

We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about promoting lifelong health and wellness, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, and inspiring our students to develop positive habits through physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education lessons aligned with New York State standards
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive environment that encourages all students to participate and succeed
• Promote lifelong fitness, teamwork, and healthy decision-making through a variety of physical activities
• Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support growth
• Collaborate with colleagues, staff, and families to support the overall well-being of students
• Maintain equipment, facilities, and safety protocols for all physical education activities

Job Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Physical Education.  (Candidates in the process of obtaining certification by September 1, 2026, are also encouraged to apply.)
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of all ages
• Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive classroom culture
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A genuine passion for student wellness and physical development

• Interest in contributing to the district’s athletics program, including a willingness to coach in the future
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families
• A growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional learning
